In a historic moment on the steps of the Rafghan Royal Palace in Rabul, the King has appointed the first new Parliament member, Kieran I. Kieran I will represent the province of Rafdahar in the National Parliament. Kieran I was also a member of the previos parliament, being active in politics since the country's nascence.
The King of Rafghanistan, Rafi II, has announced how the government will function when any sort of crisis occurs. The King did not specify what could constitute a crisis, but he did mention that times of war or a succession dispute could cause them. He has shown a plan where a Loy Jirga will be called, summoning certain individuals who are particularly influential in the country, including members of Parliament, the Royal Family, or any other individual the King wants to call, as the members of the Loya Jirga are chosen by the king. In the event of a succession crisis, due to its nature, the Loya Jirga will consist of all immediate Relatives of the last monarch, all members of Parliament, and the Supreme Chancellor. The King says that the primary purpose of the Loya Jirga is to expediently settle any major issues and confirm the accession of a new king. Similar systems will be used to solve regional disputes, with local leaders forming the Loya Jirga, though it is up to the Parliamentary representative from the province to decide who is an official member. The idea has already been met with popular approval and is hailed as one of the king's greatest achievements in restructuring the government, doing away with the old, Byzantine system of bureaucracy that slowed all decisions down to a snail's pace.
The King of Rafghanistan, Rafi II, has announced who the first Supreme Chancellor will be. In a conference today he revealed that it will be none other than Daniel I, former member of Rafghan Parliamenrtt,
Recently, a number of parliament members have moved out of the country, preventing them from continuing their duties. In light of this, the King of Rafghanistan, Rafi II, has decided to begin a program to completely restructure the government so that the King may regain his historic powers. The most significant change has already been announced, as a new position has been created, which will be known as the Supreme Chancellor.
The Supreme Chancellor will function as an advisor for the king and act as the king's regent when he is outside of the country and will oversee all diplomatic relations with other countries and also lead all Rafghan embassies in other nations. The first Supreme Chancellor has not yet been announced, but the king has said the position will be filled shortly. The Parliament has been fully restructured, with each province in the country electing one person to represent that province in Parliament. the Parliament's role has also been changed, as it can now propose laws, but the King has the right to veto any such suggestions and can also pass his own laws without the consent of Parliament. Truly, this is an exciting time to be a citizen of the Kingdom of Rafghanistan. |
